Title I Reading with Mrs. Leveille

Early Literacy Groups at Pennoyer – A Good Time for All!

Posted in Uncategorized by aleveille on the August 26, 2008

This year I will be working with all Kindergarten and First Grade students who are in Pennoyer’s Early Literacy Groups.  These groups meet with me two or three times per week for 30 to 40 minutes of small group instruction.  Our focus will be on letter names, letter sounds, isolation of sounds and the recognition of Dolch Words.

Students qualify for an Early LIteracy Group if their scores on the September, January or May AimswebBenchmarkings reflect a need for additional early literacy support.   Aimsweb Benchmarkings allow Pennoyer School to monitor all students’ literacy progress.  If your child participates in an Early Literacy Group, you will be notified by me through a letter sent home with your child.

I look forward to working with all my students.  We really do have a good time.

I like that you have the Battle of the Books list on your blog. Even students who are no longer eligible to participate still have a list of great bookds to read! ;~)
